Before every meeting this week, ask yourself: "What's the thing in this room that everyone sees and nobody's saying?" Write it down. You don't have to act on it yet — just stop not-seeing.

If you're waiting for someone else to make it safe before you'll stand, that's not patience. That's an excuse with good posture.

What's still true about you after they take the title?

Q1. If my title were removed tomorrow, could I say clearly who I'd still be?

Q2. Do I know which parts of my identity are rooted, and which ones are just borrowed from my role?

Everything external eventually gets stripped — a title, a team, a season of health, a season of finances. If your identity lives entirely in what can be taken, the first real fire takes everything with it.

If you can't name a single thing you'd still be without your current role, that's not humility. That's exposure.

Underneath every assigned role is the one you chose before anyone handed you a nametag.
